Engineer Fernando Herrera Cebezas

With over 40 years of experience in the civil engineering sector, Fernando Herrera Cabezas is a distinguished professional in structural design, construction, forensic engineering, hydraulics, and water treatment systems. He holds a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Costa Rica (1984) and is a licensed engineer (IC 3789).
Throughout his career, Mr. Herrera has led and consulted on a wide range of complex projects, including large-scale residential developments, industrial plants, hotels, religious and educational facilities, and critical infrastructure across Costa Rica. His structural expertise has been instrumental in the successful design and execution of projects for both public institutions and private corporations, such as Bridgestone, Dos Pinos, and the Supreme Electoral Tribunal.
His consultancy spans structural, hydraulic, sanitary, and mechanical systems, with a strong focus on sustainable engineering practices. He has worked on landmark projects including high-capacity water tanks, pedestrian bridges, and advanced seismic-resistant structures. His roles have encompassed structural audits, remodeling for heavy equipment installations, and designing elevated steel tanks and reinforced concrete systems.
Beyond engineering practice, Mr. Herrera is a seasoned academic, having served as a university professor for over two decades, mentoring students in structural mechanics, hydraulics, and engineering thesis development at institutions such as Universidad Fidélitas and Universidad Hispanoamericana.
